For Go’s Sake, who the hell do they think they are? They definitively don’t speak for me.

They are unbelievably narrow-minded assimilationist wannabe human rights ‘activists’, thinking they do good to the LGBT community.

Mostly, it’s only the L, G, and B – seeing that the T don’t exist for them, as are pretty much all subgroups of the queer community. The only thing they want is to ameliorate the situation of the already well-off Caste of Post-Stonewall-ite college-educated monogamous white upper-middle class gender-conforming gays and lesbians with children – they’re all-American! They’re just SSIPHs! (Same-sex intercourse practising heterosexuals)Of course I don’t wanna say that we queers behave in a certain way that is different from that of the rest of Humanity, as last time I checked, we’re pretty much people, too.

They’re opportunity fags and dykes unsatisfied with their nonheterosexuality and totally uncomfortable with the Subculture. Some might even argue that the ‘bad’ years are over – but well, these have probably never left the safe haven that is the West. Some might argue that life as an oppressed group is over – which it isn’t – and that now is the time to conform and stop being ‘militant queers’ (well, they probably wouldn’t even dare to use words like ‘gay’) and that we’re mainstream now (OK, The L Word does indeed rock, so do the two QAF versions) and that the time of drag queens and butch chicks and bears is over.

Excuse me, but you go to bars because of what drag queens did for you!, to say it in the words of the magnificient Sylvia Rivera. Also, it’s just not true – growing up queer gives you a different perspective of life, you go through hardships that not everyone can endure, and… as Michael said in that epic QAF episode, we’re just not like you. Some are happy same-sex parents, but others are also happy with their strap-ons and crossdressing, with their U-Hauls and leather, and that’s what makes the LGBT community so unique, so diverse, just like our flag. All of us are different, like snowflakes, and everyone of us deserves a place in the community – we come from so many different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, so, we shouldn’t only promote those of us who are ‘normal’ to make a shift to a pro-LGBT opinion in society, seeing that it would segregate and stigmatize the non-conforming part of the community, just to advance political causes. Politics is the last thing that we need, we should first start by raising awareness about the community (without discrimiating against any minoritary minorities), because as we all know, grass grows from its roots.
